Ten Years

August 30, 2018

The tenth anniversary of my diagnosis of Crohn’s disease is quickly approaching. This month, however, is right about the time it hit me. I’ve written about that before, so I won’t go into those details. What I do need to talk about is the severity of this disease and it’s complications. Every year around this time, when kids are heading back to school and loading up on vaccinations, I make a quick little facebook posts to remind my friends and family to please keep their distance if they have been sick or vaccinated.

Tomato Basil Chicken Thighs

May 2, 2018

I had a severe craving for some pizza this past weekend. My husband has been wanting some too, but we both knew that we would feel awful afterwards. So I decided to infuse my favorite pizza flavors into some chicken instead. It turned out exactly how I had hoped….

Chomps Snack Sticks – product review

October 28, 2017

“Busy” does not even begin to describe my lifestyle these days. Between homeschooling, running two businesses, and treating an autoimmune disease, I am always on the go. When I shop for my family, healthy snacks that we can eat on the run are a must. Healthy and convenient don’t always go hand in hand, and most of the time there is a lot of prep work involved. Thankfully, that is not the case with Chomps Snack Sticks! …

Rainbow Unicorn Art Party

September 13, 2017

It’s that time again. Time to celebrate the birth of my baby girls. I can not believe another year has come and gone. This time of year is always bittersweet for Momma. I wish I could bottle them up and keep them little forever. At the same time, I really look forward to these parties. Giving my princesses a special day just for them brings me so much joy!…

Cheddar Bay Biscuits – Gluten Free / Grain Free

February 14, 2017

Cheddar Bay Biscuits. They are pretty much the number one reason I ever wanted to go to Red Lobster. Unless it happened to be that special time of the year for endless shrimp. Josh and I look forward to that all year long. I can stuff my face with some coconut shrimp and pina colada sauce. Oh Lordy. Of course….good things sometimes must come to an end. Thus I can no longer indulge in basket after basket of fluffy, buttery, cheesy biscuits from Red Lobster….

Paleo Fudge Brownies

October 5, 2016

img_20160916_164705

Brownies are my biggest weakness. Not just any brownies, though. I won’t blink an eye for your betty crocker box mix. Okay maybe I will. But It’s the homemade goodness that really gets me. The chewy, gooey, fudgy brownies that stick to your fingertips and the roof of your mouth. Fresh from the pan and chased with a cold glass of milk. THOSE brownies. Are my weakness. It doesn’t matter if I have been dieting for 29 days and I am 8 hours away from meeting my goal….you take a pan of homemade brownies out of the oven and that’s the end of me….

Venison Carne Asada Tacos – Paleo & GF

September 15, 2016

img_0682

Taco Tuesdays are my favorite day of the work week. I always make tacos once a week because 1. They are tasty, 2. They are easy, 3. They are tasty, 4. They are inexpensive, and 5. They are tasty. There are infinite ways to make a taco, so I never get tired of them. Whether it’s beef tacos, pork tacos, fish tacos, chicken tacos, spaghetti tacos, I love them all. These tacos, however…these are the best….

Lyla and Lacie’s Peppa Pig Party!

September 1, 2016

IMG_0576

This weekend we celebrated the birth of my two favorite little piggies. Lacie turned two in July, and Lyla will be 5 in October. Luckily for me, most of my mom friends have little ones both of their ages, so I decided to meet in the middle and do a combined party this year. Seeing as the two of them absolutely adore Peppa Pig, I knew I had to deliver the cutest little Peppa Party ever. These girls were thrilled….

Cinnamon Ice Cream – Paleo & AIP

July 8, 2016

IMG_0458

We have been living in 100 degree weather here for the past few weeks. Ice cream is a must. My husband knows that the ways to my heart are number one, food; and number two, kitchen appliances. You can keep your cards and flowers, I will sit in my pantry and gaze lovingly at the plethora of waffle irons, rice cookers, crock pots, and spiral slicers. My favorite handy machine is the ice cream maker attatchment that I got for my birthday….

Motherhood

May 23, 2016

DSC_0206

I was born into a very close knit family. Not just my immediate family, my entire extended family. Since before I can remember, the whole family would get together for every little occasion. Every holiday, birthday, graduation, or just because. It never made sense to me when kids in school talked about never doing anything with their families. I just couldn’t wrap my head around that. Because I am 100% certain that if families didn’t exist, and I had to choose who I would spend my life growing up with, these people are the ones I would choose every. single. time. My family is my tribe….
